Kerry McHugh
Knowledge Curator
Kerry was born & raised in Maryland, land of crabs and Old Bay (on everything). Her work in publishing, communications, and philanthropy has led her to believe that change is dependent on strong and healthy relationships--with one another, with the earth we inhabit, and with the vision of the future we wish to build together.

Most recently, Kerry's work in the philanthropic sector has been as the Program Officer of The Helen J. Serini Foundation, building relationships with grant and funding partners, convening and facilitating conversations across the social sector, and supporting the capacity of local changemakers. She speaks regularly about engaging the next generation of non-profit and philanthropic leaders in the sector, including facilitating Exponent Philanthropy’s annual Next Gen Fellows program and co-founding the Emergent Philanthropy (formerly Rising Leaders) Affinity Group at the Maryland Philanthropy Network. An avid reader, Kerry believes that books and stories can reveal truths both large and small, and brings that to her work as a writer and book reviewer.

Kerry lives in western Maryland (on Piscataway land) with her partner, two small children, and a perfectly reasonable number of bookshelves.
