United Philanthropy Forum 2018
July 2018
United Philanthropy Forum leads, strengthens and informs a national network of nearly 75 regional and national philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs) that represent more than 7,000 philanthropic organizations. Philanthropy Serving Organizations play a unique role in the ecosystem serving as champions, colleagues and critics. With regard to evaluation, they are well positioned to lead by example and make sure that attention to equity reflects a shift in evaluative purpose and practice.
More than 40 United Philanthropy Forum conference participants participated in an interactive exploration of the privileges embedded in conventional evaluation and explored an emerging set of principles that challenge us all to rethink how evaluation can be a tool for equity.
The Forum is part of the working group led by PNY to bring an evaluation 101 curriculum to the national stage that integrates equitable evaluation.
Since 2016 Luminare Group (and previously jdcPartnerships) has been invited to share with Forum Conference participants new and different ways to think about strategy and evaluative practice. Luminare’s work with the Equitable Evaluation project was a perfect fit.
“Love the applied learning approach reinforced through slides, speaker knowledge and expertise, Small Group exercise and handouts. Superb and very helpful approach for Regional PSOs."
